Electrical buildings / Power & control

Custom Power Control Rooms & E-Houses

We bring SCR/VFD control-house experience, custom fabrication, and electrical assembly together on power and control building projects. We plan the enclosure and the equipment inside it around your application, interfaces, and project requirements.

ETSCO / Equipment prepared for deliveryThe enclosure and the equipment, planned as one build.

01 / Start with the equipment

A building around
the power package.

The right configuration starts with what the equipment needs to do. We consider the enclosure, electrical assemblies, access, and interfaces together.

01

Power distribution
& switchgear

We house the distribution equipment and its controls in one coordinated enclosure and layout.

  • Switchgear and breaker equipment
  • Power and control wiring
  • Cable entry and equipment access
More on switchgear
02

Motor control
& drive systems

We plan motor-control equipment, drives, and control interfaces as part of the same project.

  • MCC and drive equipment
  • SCR/DC and VFD/AC systems
  • Operator and system interfaces
More on SCR/VFD control houses
03

Custom enclosures
& electrical assembly

We plan the physical build around the components and wiring the application requires.

  • Equipment layout and mounting
  • Cabinets, panels, and fabrication
  • Defined customer-furnished equipment
More on fabrication

The equipment included, ratings, environmental requirements, testing, and delivery scope are defined for each project in ETSCO’s quote.

02 / Drilling-power experience

We plan the structure
and wiring together.

Our drilling power-system work covers both the building and the equipment inside it, so custom metalwork, electrical assembly, and control-system interfaces go into the same plan.

  1. 01

    We define the package.

We start with the application, one-line, equipment list, footprint, and site requirements.

  2. 02

    Then we coordinate the build.

We work through enclosure fabrication, component layout, wiring, and connection points.

  3. 03

Then we agree on the scope.

Together we pin down equipment responsibilities, required documentation, testing, and the delivery plan.

03 / What these buildings are called

Which type of
electrical house?

Project specifications use several names for these buildings, and the names can overlap. What we build depends on the equipment, interfaces, and required scope.

Bring the term used in your specification. We’ll work through what it means for your project.

Power control room
Often shortened to PCR in project discussions: a building that brings power-distribution and control equipment together.
E-House / electrical house
A prefabricated electrical building that can accommodate distribution, motor-control, drive, and automation equipment, depending on the package.
Power distribution center / PDC
A package focused on electrical distribution. When a specification calls for a PDC building, confirm the equipment and enclosure included.
SCR/VFD control house
A house organized around SCR/DC or VFD/AC drive systems and their associated power and controls. See ETSCO’s drilling-power experience.

04 / Planning your project

Tell us what you need,
and we’ll plan the build.

A full drawing package helps, but an application, equipment list, and required date are enough to get started.

What we need to quote
  • Application & equipmentWhat the system serves, one-line drawings, equipment ratings, and component responsibilities.
  • Building & siteFootprint, access, cable entry, environment, cooling needs, and installation location.
  • Requirements & timingSpecified codes, documentation, testing, shipping constraints, and your required date.
